Halfie

Halfie Terms of Use

Effective date: 24 October 2026
Last updated: 24 October 2026

1. Agreement

1.1. These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Individual Entrepreneur Renat Shakirov, an individual entrepreneur registered in Georgia under identification number 305811501, with the registered address Ferdinand Tavadze Street 3, Building 5, Vake District, Tbilisi, Georgia ("we", "us", "our").

1.2. The Terms cover the Halfie iPhone app, its widgets and Apple Watch app, and the related websites and services (together, the "Service"). Our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines form part of the Terms.

1.3. By creating an account or using the Service, you accept the Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

2. Definitions

In the Terms:

(a) "Partner" means the one other Halfie user you are connected with;

(b) "Your Content" means anything you send, upload or create in the Service, including photos, drawings, handwritten notes, captions, voice notes, touches, answers, dates, wishlist items, gifts and messages;

(c) "Private" means the 18+ space in the app for messages, photos and videos between you and your Partner; and

(d) "Halfie Plus" means our paid subscription.

3. Who can use Halfie

3.1. Adults only. You must be at least 18 years old, and an adult under the law of the country where you live, to use the Service. We check your age band at sign-up with Apple's Declared Age Range feature or, where it is not available, by asking for your year of birth. You must answer truthfully.

3.2. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will close the account and delete its data.

3.3. You may not use the Service if the law where you live forbids it, or if we have previously terminated your account.

4. Your account and your Partner

4.1. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your Apple account and your iPhone secure, and for what happens in your account.

4.2. Each person may have one account, and each account can be connected with one Partner at a time. You connect by sharing an invite link or code. Only send your invite to the person you want to connect with: whoever uses it becomes your Partner, and anyone who has the link can see your first name and photo while the invite is active.

4.3. Your Partner must also be at least 18, and must want to be connected with you. You must not connect with someone, or keep using Halfie with them, against their wishes.

4.4. Either of you can disconnect at any time in Settings, without giving a reason. Disconnecting erases Private for both of you at once. What happens to the rest of your shared history is explained in the Privacy Policy.

4.5. You can delete your account at any time in Settings, Delete account. This also disconnects your Partner.

5. What you share

5.1. Your Partner sees it. The Service exists so that you can share things with your Partner. Anything you send is shown to them, along with your name, photo, city, local time and the weather where you are. Think before you send.

5.2. Your rights. You keep all rights you have in Your Content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit and display Your Content only to provide the Service to you and your Partner, keep it secure, review reports and comply with the law. We do not use Your Content to train AI models, for advertising, or to promote the Service. The licence ends when Your Content is deleted, subject to the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.

5.3. Your responsibility. You are responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you have the right to share it, and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights, including the privacy of people who appear in it.

5.4. What your Partner does is not up to us. We cannot control what your Partner does with what you send, and we are not responsible for it, except for our own obligations under the law and these Terms.

6. Private

6.1. Opt-in, for both. Private is off by default. Each of you turns it on for yourself, and you each confirm it with Face ID or your passcode. Your Partner can only send you photos and videos in Private if you allow them. Either of you can pause Private, delete any message for both of you, or erase all of Private, at any time and without giving a reason.

6.2. What Private is for. Private is for consensual adult content between you and your Partner, and nobody else. In Private:

(a) you may share only content of yourself, or content you and your Partner made together with both of your consent;

(b) you must never share an image or video of anyone other than yourself and your Partner;

(c) you must never share any sexual or intimate content of anyone under 18, whether real, drawn or generated. We have zero tolerance for this: we terminate the account and report it to the competent authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable;

(d) you must never share intimate images or videos of anyone without their consent, including your Partner. Consent to take or share an image once is not consent to share it again or elsewhere;

(e) you must never pressure, threaten or blackmail anyone into sending intimate content, or threaten to share someone's intimate content ("sextortion"); and

(f) you must not save, record, photograph or otherwise copy your Partner's Private content, or show it to anyone else, without their clear consent.

6.3. Screenshots: what we can and cannot do. We hide Private during screen recording and AirPlay, and we try to block screenshots where iOS allows. Blocking is best effort: Apple does not offer a guaranteed way to prevent screenshots, so a screenshot may sometimes work. When the app detects a screenshot in Private, it tells both of you. No app can stop someone from photographing the screen with another phone or camera. Only send what you would be comfortable with your Partner keeping.

6.4. How long things last. Private photos are view once (they disappear after being viewed) or, with Halfie Plus, can be kept for 24 hours. Messages are deleted after 7 days, or 30 days with Halfie Plus. Everything in Private is erased for both of you if either of you disconnects or deletes their account. Private messages, photos and videos are end-to-end encrypted: they are encrypted on your phone and only your and your Partner's devices hold the keys, so we cannot read them. The Privacy Policy explains what we can still see.

7. Reporting and removal

7.1. In the app. You can report any photo you receive in Private as non-consensual or otherwise against these Terms. A reported photo is hidden for both of you straight away. We review every report and act within 48 hours.

7.2. Anyone can ask us to remove an intimate image. If an intimate image or video of you was shared on Halfie without your consent, you can ask us to remove it, whether or not you use Halfie. Write to shelbulab@gmail.com with "TAKE IT DOWN" in the subject line. The Support page lists what to include. Within 48 hours of receiving a valid request, we remove the image, make reasonable efforts to find and remove identical copies on the Service, and tell you what we did. This process is designed to meet the requirements of the US TAKE IT DOWN Act and is available to people everywhere.

7.3. Other reports. You can report any other content or behaviour that breaks these Terms by writing to shelbulab@gmail.com.

7.4. Removal in good faith. We may remove or disable access to content that we believe in good faith is non-consensual intimate imagery, child sexual abuse material or otherwise unlawful, even if it later turns out not to be.

8. Acceptable use

8.1. You must not use the Service to:

(a) break the law or help anyone else break it;

(b) share content that sexualises or exploits minors in any way;

(c) share intimate content without the consent of everyone shown in it;

(d) harass, threaten, stalk, control or intimidate anyone, including your Partner;

(e) share content that promotes violence, self-harm or hatred against people because of who they are;

(f) impersonate anyone, or create an account for someone else;

(g) use Halfie to watch or track someone without their knowledge;

(h) send spam or promote products or services;

(i) infringe anyone's copyright or other rights;

(j) scrape, reverse-engineer or decompile the Service, except where the law allows it;

(k) get around limits, paywalls, age checks or security measures; or

(l) interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security.

8.2. The Community Guidelines give more detail.

9. Enforcement

9.1. If you break these Terms, we take action in proportion to how serious it is:

(a) removal of the content;

(b) a warning;

(c) temporary suspension of your account or of your access to Private; and

(d) termination of your account.

9.2. For serious breaches we may go straight to suspension or termination, without warning. Serious breaches include anything involving minors, sharing intimate content without consent, threats, blackmail and sextortion. We will also report such breaches to the authorities where the law requires it, or where we believe someone is at risk.

9.3. When an account is suspended or terminated, its connection with the Partner ends and Private is erased for both partners. The other partner keeps their account.

9.4. If you think we made a mistake, you can appeal by writing to shelbulab@gmail.com with "Appeal" in the subject line. A person will review the decision and tell you the outcome.

10. Halfie Plus

10.1. One subscription for two. Either partner can buy Halfie Plus. While the two of you are connected, it covers both of you. The app tells you if your couple is already covered, so you do not need to buy it twice. What Plus includes is described in the app before you buy.

10.2. Plus follows the person who pays. If you disconnect, the partner who pays keeps Plus until the end of their subscription, and the other partner moves to the free version. If the paying partner cancels, Plus stays on for both of you until the end of the paid period, and the other partner can then subscribe on their own. Nothing you created is deleted when you move to the free version, but Plus features stop. For example, Private messages older than 7 days are deleted.

10.3. Billing by Apple. Halfie Plus is sold through the Apple App Store and billed to the paying partner's Apple account. The price, the billing period and any trial are shown in the app before you confirm the purchase. Prices may vary by country and may include taxes.

10.4. Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the then current price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings (on iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for.

10.5. Free trial. The yearly plan comes with a 7-day free trial, one per couple. If you start the trial and do not cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the yearly subscription starts and you are charged the yearly price. We remind you 2 days before the trial ends. If either of you has already used a trial, the app shows the regular price. The monthly plan has no trial.

10.6. Switching who pays. If the other partner wants to pay instead, they subscribe and the first partner cancels in their Apple account settings. Each Apple account is billed separately by Apple for its own subscription, so please cancel the one you no longer need. We remind you if we see two active subscriptions for your couple.

10.7. Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under its terms and can be requested at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves.

10.8. Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel it in your Apple account settings.

10.9. Changes. We may change prices and what Plus includes. A change will not affect a period you have already paid for, and Apple will ask for your consent to a price increase where required.

10.10. Nothing in this section affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection law.

11. Copyright complaints

11.1. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, write to shelbulab@gmail.com with "Copyright" in the subject line and include: your name and contact details; the work you say is infringed; enough information for us to find the content; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

11.2. We review complete notices promptly, may remove the content and will tell the user concerned, who may send a counter-notice to the same address. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

12. Our rights

The Service, including the app, its software, design, question prompts and trade marks, belongs to us or our licensors. Apart from the right to use the Service under these Terms, we give you no rights in it.

13. Changes to the Service

We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a paid feature in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible.

14. Ending the agreement

14.1. You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

14.2. We may suspend or terminate your account under section 9. Except for serious breaches, we will give you notice and, where reasonable, a chance to fix the problem. We may stop providing the Service on reasonable notice.

14.3. Inactive accounts. If an account has no active Halfie Plus subscription and has not been opened for 12 months, we may delete it, after telling you at least 30 days before as described in the Privacy Policy. Opening the app once keeps the account.

14.4. When the agreement ends, your right to use the Service ends. Sections 5.2, 5.4, 9, 15, 16, 17, 19 and 20, and any other terms meant to survive, continue to apply.

15. Not a safety or emergency service

15.1. Halfie is a way to stay close. It is not a safety, location-tracking or emergency service. Local times, weather, distances and statuses such as "Asleep" are estimates based on the city each of you sets, and may be wrong or out of date.

15.2. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services. If a relationship feels controlling or unsafe, you can disconnect at any time, and you can contact a local support service for help.

16. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, that notifications or touches will arrive at a particular time, or that screenshot blocking will work.

17. Limitation of liability

17.1. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or in connection with the Service, or for what your Partner or any other person does with content you shared.

17.2. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising from or in connection with the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) USD 100.

17.3. Nothing in the Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

18. Additional terms for the Apple App Store

18.1. If you got the app from the Apple App Store, these terms also apply:

(a) Parties. The Terms are between you and us, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.

(b) Licence. We grant you a non-transferable licence to use the app on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the App Store's terms.

(c) Maintenance and support. We alone are responsible for maintaining and supporting the app. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support.

(d) Warranty. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.

(e) Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.

(f) Intellectual property claims. If a third party claims that the app, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.

(g) Legal compliance. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

(h) Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as your mobile data agreement.

(i) Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Terms. Once you accept the Terms, Apple may enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

18.2. Questions, complaints and claims about the app should be sent to us at the contact details in section 22.

19. Governing law and courts

19.1. The Terms are governed by the laws of Georgia.

19.2. The courts of Tbilisi, Georgia, have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or in connection with the Terms. If you are a consumer, you can also bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country.

19.3. The Terms contain no arbitration agreement and no waiver of class or collective proceedings.

19.4. Please contact us at shelbulab@gmail.com before starting proceedings, so that we can try to resolve the matter.

20. General

20.1. If any part of the Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest stays in force.

20.2. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.

20.3. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under the Terms without our written consent. We may transfer the Terms to a successor to our business, and will tell you if we do.

20.4. The Terms, including the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.

21. Changes to the Terms

21.1. We may update the Terms. We will tell you in the app before a material change takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that, the updated Terms apply to you; if you do not agree, you can delete your account.

21.2. If a change affects how we process Private content, we will ask for your consent again before it applies to you.
